Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Project Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Team Leader and Project Superintendent in the planning, management, and administration of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Document control and coordination of information and documents
  • Review and distribution of shop drawings
  • Maintenance and submission of 'as-built' drawings
  • Posting of changes, clarifications, and RFI's in drawings and specifications
  • Generating and tracking RFI's
  • Maintenance of working documents in paper and electronic formats
  • Change management, including tracking and distribution of change and clarification documents to the field, subcontractors, and suppliers
  • Assistance in Change Order Estimating under the direction/review of the Team Leader
  • Project start-up, including development, monitoring, and updating of the mechanical activities included in the Project Schedule
  • Scheduling mechanical construction operations in cooperation with the Team Leader and the Project Superintendent
  • Assistance in subcontractor management by helping the Project Superintendent coordinate the schedule of subcontractor work operations
  • Assistance in preparation of the weekly 'Short Term Look Ahead Schedule' to monitor progress and assure all work is scheduled for maximum efficiency
  • Scheduling, processing, and monitoring of mechanical submittals
  • Material purchasing, including pricing and purchasing materials as directed by the Project Manager and/or Project Superintendent
  • Assistance with various field tasks at the direction of the Project Manager and/or Superintendent
  • Development and maintenance of the Div 11 Equipment Log, Valve Tracking Log, and hydrotesting plan
  • Project meetings, including scheduling, attending, and taking minutes
  • Participation in 'Red Book' meetings and assistance with action items assigned
  • Project closeout, including distribution and tracking of 'Punch lists', expediting and assembly of project closeout documentation, and expediting lien releases from subcontractors and suppliers
  • Start-up and commissioning, including writing the Functional Test Plan, scheduling the manufacturers' start-up technicians, and supporting the start-up activities as directed by the Project Manager and Superintendent

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Self-starter with initiative, enthusiasm, and energy
  • Works well under pressure
  • Undergraduate degree in Construction Management
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, and Project Management Software (Viewpoint and Procore preferred)

Salary Range: $108K to $145K per year, plus bonus compensation and other benefits.
