Position Overview:

As a vital member of the Capital Group, the Fixed Income Research Associate will engage closely with Fixed Income Investment Professionals and colleagues to provide essential insights. Your role will involve conducting thorough fundamental research and analysis that influences investment strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with investors to generate investment ideas and oversee holdings through in-depth fundamental research on companies and their respective industries.
  • Perform financial modeling, organize meetings with management teams, sell-side firms, and industry experts, and conduct relative value comparisons.
  • Analyze capital structures and contribute significantly to both investment grade and high yield corporate credit investment processes.
  • Engage in projects of increasing complexity while receiving mentorship from seasoned investment professionals.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in finance, economics, STEM, or a related field.
  • A strong passion for a career in fixed income, particularly in corporate credit.
  • A minimum of 2+ years of experience in fixed income or credit research, preferably with exposure to both investment grade and high yield corporate credit.
  • A desire to enhance fundamental credit research skills in collaboration with experienced professionals.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and fundamental credit analysis, utilizing various research tools and interpreting data effectively.
  • A collaborative spirit, demonstrating the ability to ask insightful questions and share perspectives proactively.
  • A commitment to continuous learning and adaptability to diverse work styles and expectations.
  • Intellectual curiosity and analytical prowess in navigating complex financial markets and industry trends.
  • Sound judgment in addressing conceptually intricate matters.
  • Ability to foster and maintain relationships both internally and externally.
  • Familiarity with Aladdin, data visualization tools (Tableau, PowerBI), and/or Python is advantageous but not mandatory.

Compensation:

The base salary range for this position is $139,498-$223,197. In addition to a competitive base salary, you will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, along with Capital's annual profitability bonus and a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
