Position Summary:

The Software Quality Assurance Engineer is tasked with the critical responsibility of designing and implementing testing protocols for both new and existing software products. This role ensures that all products adhere to the necessary functional, technical, and regulatory standards while maintaining superior quality. The diverse range of products, from handheld devices to sophisticated gaming systems, requires a thorough understanding of software testing methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, review, and execute comprehensive test plans and scripts for various gaming themes and systems.
  • Identify, document, and track issues encountered during testing phases to ensure timely resolution.
  • Collaborate with fellow SQA Engineers and follow established Work Instructions to enhance testing processes.
  • Prepare detailed Completion Reports at the conclusion of each project, verifying accuracy for all assigned projects.
  • Work closely with the Software Engineering and Product Support teams to address all reported issues prior to product launch.
  • Lead and participate in Integration and SQA handoff meetings.
  • Establish and manage essential databases for SQA functions and testing activities.
  • Oversee project escalations and mentor junior SQA Engineers across multiple projects.
  • Review hardware requirements for projects to ensure necessary resources are available.
  • Provide weekly status updates on project progress to the team.
  • Build strong relationships with upstream teams impacting SQA, including Product Management and Systems Engineering.
  • Organize and facilitate project team meetings and reviews.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Support the SQA Department with special initiatives.
  • Foster relationships with upstream organizations that influence SQA outcomes.
  • Introduce and lead initiatives aimed at improving SQA processes.
  • May supervise a small team of engineers.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience leading SQA teams through complete testing life cycles.
  • Ability to derive system test plans and cases from established requirements.
  • Familiarity with Visual Studio and experience with C/C++ programming.
  • Understanding of software testing methodologies and product development lifecycles.
  • Experience with automation testing is advantageous.
  • Background in the gaming industry is preferred.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Computer Science is preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in SQA.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively.
  • Strong leadership capabilities to mentor multiple projects and SQA Engineers.
  • Advanced organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to provide constructive feedback and evaluate SQA Engineer performance.
  • Detail-oriented with the capability to work independently and lead projects.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Familiarity with real-time embedded systems and gaming is a plus.
  • Proficient in TestRails and JIRA, along with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies and scripting languages such as Perl is beneficial.
  • Results-driven with strong multitasking abilities.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working in front of electronic screens for long durations.
  • Capable of performing repetitive motions as needed.

Work Environment:

  • Flexibility to adapt to changing project demands.
  • Willingness to work overtime or weekends as necessary to meet deadlines.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
