About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Standards Project Manager to join our team at UL Standards & Engagement. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in driving the development and implementation of safety standards projects to advance our mission of making the world safer, more secure, and sustainable.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage standards activities to enable the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of safety standards.
  • Plan and execute activities across the project lifecycle, ensuring timely and high-quality deliverables.
  • Serve as a recognized resource for guidance and best practices within the program or technical area.
  • Contribute to program management associated with assigned standards, providing input and recommendations related to the portfolio of standards.
  • Develop and apply end-to-end solutions to address complex issues, implementing proactive strategies to drive collaboration and success.
  • Organize and present information to internal and external stakeholders, supporting highly complex technical committees and those requiring high-level engagement within specific industry sectors or categories.
  • Develop relationships within the broader safety community, impacting and influencing the standards development community through work in technical or program areas.
  • Maintain continued awareness of industry trends and external context related to the portfolio, staying current with regulatory requirements and compliance frameworks governing public safety.
Requirements
  • Advanced degree in a relevant field, with a minimum of 5 years of related work experience.
  • Strong project management skills, with experience developing comprehensive project plans, identifying and mitigating risks, and managing project resources to deliver successful outcomes.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to lead project teams and effectively communicate project goals, requirements, and progress to various stakeholder groups.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills, with experience analyzing and addressing complex issues, developing and implementing contingency plans.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and facilitation skills, with the ability to communicate key concepts and information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Positive and collaborative interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to foster collaboration and partnership across teams to develop solutions with broad impact.
  • Strategic thinker, with the ability to innovate and adapt in a dynamic industry landscape.
