We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Civil Engineering Project Manager to join our team in Durham, NC. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for managing a variety of transportation projects from design through construction, ensuring their successful delivery and providing technical expertise to the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage project budgets and schedules, ensuring timely completion and within budget.
  • Implement best practices and process improvements to enhance project delivery efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Mentor staff and contribute to internal professional development and training.
  • Provide leadership and technical expertise to the Engineering team, collaborating with other disciplines as needed.
  • Prepare schedule, budgets, and scope of services for projects.
  • Support regional leader in business development and provide quality control over team deliverables.

Requirements:

  • 12+ years of experience as a Transportation Engineer in a consulting environment or public entity, with 5+ years as a Project Manager and 3+ years managing staff.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and Professional Engineering (P.E.) license or TE (Traffic Engineer) licensure.
  • Experience in and knowledge of the field of active, non-motorized transportation, with demonstrated understanding of project management principles, methods, and techniques.
  • Ability to guide staff members and manage internal team expectations, with strong initiative and ability to capitalize on opportunities to enhance Alta's position in the marketplace.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, multiple simultaneous projects involving cross-functional project teams within budgetary and schedule constraints.
