Strategic Staffing Solutions is seeking a Renewable Energy Project Coordinator for a direct-hire opportunity with a prominent client.
Position: Renewable Energy Project Coordinator
Location: Hybrid work model
Employment Type: W2 Direct Hire/FTE
Compensation: $125,000 annually plus a 10% performance bonus, along with a matching 401k plan
* A relocation incentive of $5,000 is available
Position Overview
This role is responsible for overseeing the development and execution of large-scale renewable energy projects, specifically those with a capacity of 1 megawatt (MW) or more. The coordinator will manage project requirements, including scope definition, scheduling, budgeting, engineering, and construction specifications. The goal is to ensure successful project completion by identifying viable projects and guiding them through the development stages, including interconnection applications, engineering design, permitting, and the transition to construction. The coordinator will also support community outreach initiatives in collaboration with various internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead solar and/or wind projects through various development phases, whether early, mid, or late stage.
- Facilitate a team of experts to provide project timelines, cost assessments, and engineering specifications for renewable initiatives.
- Oversee project budgets and ensure cost-effective procurement of labor, materials, and equipment; collaborate with company representatives during bid meetings and supplier evaluations.
- Communicate project progress to all stakeholders, including leadership, ensuring clarity in direction and expectations.
- Identify potential opportunities for renewable project development, including negotiating leases and agreements.
- Assist the development team in creating marketing materials and proposals for potential renewable projects and mergers & acquisitions.
- Evaluate project risks and implement solutions in collaboration with leadership.
- Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and regulatory standards, including maintaining necessary documentation.
- Analyze renewable energy market trends and opportunities across diverse political and geographic landscapes.
- Engage in industry groups focused on renewable energy policy changes and initiatives.
- Support community engagement efforts to foster positive project outcomes, including participation in community meetings.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- Experience in engineering, construction management, or business administration.
- Background in the renewable energy sector.
- Familiarity with local project siting and permitting processes.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
- Proficiency in project management software.
- Ability to manage the strategic development process for wind and/or solar projects.
- Strong organizational skills with the capacity to handle multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
- Capability to coordinate timelines and logistics to effectively lead projects within established deadlines.
- Ability to balance various demands from stakeholders in a constructive manner while maintaining composure under pressure.
