Position Overview:
This senior-level engineering role involves planning and executing complex engineering tasks that require innovative approaches and a comprehensive understanding of engineering principles across various domains.
Incumbents will possess the authority to make decisions regarding engineering challenges and methodologies to address significant issues, which may sometimes be intricate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leverage extensive knowledge of engineering principles in diverse assignments.
- Oversee and coordinate critical projects or field engineering tasks that are large-scale or complex.
- Take a leadership role in process enhancement teams.
- Initiate and conduct engineering studies, proposing solutions or alternative recommendations.
- Prepare and present engineering-related project findings to stakeholders.
- Develop analytical models and assess data to support improvement initiatives and solutions.
- Conduct studies and analyses to aid in resolving engineering-related challenges; may assist in formulating engineering standards and practices.
- Mentor and guide less experienced engineers.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
- Preferred: Master's Degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Experience with distribution and transmission relaying/protection schemes, medium voltage equipment (including switchgear, breakers, transformers, cables, etc.), and hazardous energy control (lockout/tagout) certification.
- Familiarity with generation and distribution electrical systems.
- Experience with Advanced Distribution Management Systems (ADMS) and Energy Management Systems (EMS).
- Proficiency in Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems and equipment.
- Experience in creating EMS displays and updating EMS databases.
- Skills in SCADA point-to-point checks and providing real-time support to Electric Control rooms and system supervisors.
