Job Title: Safety Specialist

Leidos is seeking a highly skilled Safety Specialist to join our team at the NASA Headquarters in Washington DC.

As a Safety Specialist, you will perform safety activities under general supervision of the Team Lead. In this position, you will apply basic safety fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures. You will exercise independent judgment within defined procedures and practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct facility safety inspections to ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
  • Review site-specific Health and Safety Plans (HASPs) for construction and maintenance activities.
  • Respond to urgent customer concerns and recommend corrective actions.
  • Review job hazard analyses and advise personnel on personal protective equipment.
  • Apply occupational health and industrial hygiene principles as needed.
  • Perform compliance assessments of safety and health programs against OSHA regulations.
  • Conduct safety surveys and fire life safety assessments of general office space and building operations and maintenance functions.
  • Provide safety and health training per the safety training plan.
  • Develop and update written safety and health programs to meet specific requirements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Safety or related field with 2+ years of experience in Safety.
  • Strong knowledge of data metrics and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with construction site activities, safety procedures, and requirements.
  • General knowledge of facility systems and associated hazards.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for interfacing with client and on-site contractor personnel.

Pay Range: $55, $99,875.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
