Highway Safety Specialist

The US Department of Transportation is seeking a highly skilled Highway Safety Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Enforcement Program, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety of our nation's highways.
Key Responsibilities- Initiate civil penalty collection procedures and negotiate settlement agreements on Notices of Claim.
- Evaluate cases for legal sufficiency and assist in evaluating cases for criminal investigation referral.
- Provide coordination, liaison, negotiation, and consultation for the federal civil penalty program within the geographical area covered by the Service Center.
- Experience applying laws, regulations, policies, and procedures related to evaluating motor carrier safety and compliance enforcement programs.
- Knowledge of highway safety programs, including road safety.
- Ability to provide training to State Partners and division Staff and provide extensive monitoring to the State and Federal Investigators.
