Bristol Myers Squibb is a global biopharmaceutical company dedicated to transforming patients' lives through science. We are seeking a highly skilled Associate Director, GPO Portfolio Management to join our Strategy & Business Operations team.

About the Role

This is a key leadership position that will drive, organize, manage, and communicate the portfolio of projects across Scheduling, Apheresis, POSI, GPOC, and BPO. The successful candidate will work directly with cross-functional stakeholders to manage project demands and prioritization, and move them through a process from intake to closure.

Responsibilities
  • Own the portfolio management process, standards, tools, and templates.
  • Partner with SBO team members to drive effective operation of the end-to-end portfolio management process.
  • Lead forums with GPO LT, teams, and other cross-functional stakeholders to intake and understand problems and innovations.
  • Separate problems from solutions, and ensure problems are well understood before committing valuable delivery resources to solve them.
  • Facilitate decision-making within the portfolio management process and escalation to governing bodies.
  • Prioritize portfolio items based on defined criteria and an understanding of strategic objectives, business milestones, and other drivers.
  • Understand key alignment/interdependencies across the portfolio, including other portfolios in CT.
  • Work with stakeholders and delivery team(s) to logically group projects for efficient delivery.
  • Understand the impact of portfolio additions and/or changes on resources (people and budget), sequencing and delivery.
  • Enable continuous improvement opportunities as well as innovation of the portfolio management process.
  • Track, manage and communicate portfolio management success metrics.
  • Generate insightful reports and communications to inform a very broad stakeholder community of progress, expected deliveries, and future plans.
  • Support in maintaining and implementing our strategy, planning and executing our annual strategy refresh, working on quarterly strategy reviews with each functional team, and setting goals to support the overall business strategy.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 7 years of professional experience in project management and operations, preferably in a publicly-traded healthcare/biotechnology company.
  • BA/BS degree required; MBA degree a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal and influence skill with the proven ability to communicate effectively across all departments and levels of the organization.
  • Is flexible and adaptable; demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced working environment and work diplomatically and tactfully with others.
  • Proven capability to appropriately challenge status quo, drive and support innovation, including new ideas to streamline and enhance processes rather than solely implement current tactics.

Bristol Myers Squibb offers a competitive compensation package, including a starting salary range of $149,000-$188,000, plus incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility).
