This position provides critical support to students, staff, and the general public at Chemeketa Community College. As a Student Services Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for our campus, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a welcoming environment for all visitors.
Key Responsibilities- Provide quality customer service at the front desk, incorporating respectful, patient, positive, and solution-focused behaviors and attitudes.
- Assist with college activities such as registration, conferences, and special events.
- Process records, requisitions, and forms, and conduct general office filing and maintenance.
- Research information as needed, including using various confidential records and databases.
- Assist in answering phones and directing calls for the department, and schedule student appointments over the phone or in-person.
- Embrace diversity and collaborate effectively with students, staff, and the public from diverse backgrounds.
- Participate in recruitment and retention of students to promote student success.
- Embrace and use technology tools to accomplish job functions.
- Provide high-quality service to internal and external customers through continuous improvement and adoption of lean office practices.
- High School Diploma/GED
- One year of customer service experience
- Bicultural/multicultural skills sufficient to interact with diverse cultures
- Ability to work independently on secretarial duties
- Knowledge of current office practices
- Ability to work effectively with students, staff, faculty, and the general public
- One year of clerical, reception, and/or secretarial experience or related education
- Experience working in an environment serving diverse customers
- Experience using the Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite
- Bilingual English/Spanish - Reading, writing, and speaking fluency
