Position Overview:

Falcon Square Capital is on the lookout for a skilled individual to become a part of their Debt Capital Markets (DCM) division, which operates as the firm's investment banking and registered broker dealer unit. Established in 2013, Falcon Square Capital is a woman-owned boutique investment bank located in North Carolina, specializing in fixed income trading and capital markets. Our clientele includes asset managers, insurance firms, bank portfolios, public entities, and corporations. Our analysts flourish in a collaborative environment that values individual initiative and offers extensive opportunities for both personal and professional growth. Sponsorship for necessary licenses such as Series 7 and 63 may be provided.

This role will report to three key leaders overseeing the DCM and Underwriting operations at Falcon Square Capital. It is a full-time position with flexible hybrid work options available.

All candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US on a full-time basis. Visa sponsorship is not available at this time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting comprehensive research on industries, markets, and specific companies.
  • Assessing corporate bond spreads relevant to the industry.
  • Analyzing municipal market trends.
  • Performing financial analysis and constructing financial models.
  • Preparing marketing materials for transactions, including pitch books, teasers, and management presentations.
  • Executing preliminary valuation assessments.
  • Engaging in DCM sales activities.
  • Delivering analytical reports comparing fixed income primary and secondary markets.
  • Supporting investment banking team members and fulfilling additional assigned tasks.
  • Completing corporate Request for Proposal (RFP) documents on an annual, semi-annual, and quarterly basis.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree is required.
  • Relevant coursework in business, finance, economics, or related fields is preferred.
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and critical thinking abilities.
  • Capability to create and evaluate financial and valuation models.
  • Proficiency in researching and analyzing syndicate and company data, trends, and news to derive insightful conclusions.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects effectively and independently in a dynamic work environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong interpersonal and relationship-building capabilities.
  • Demonstrated maturity, integrity, and the ability to excel in an entrepreneurial setting, both independently and as part of a team.
  • High proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Google Suite (Docs, Slides, Sheets).
  • Previous experience in investment banking or sales and trading is advantageous.
