Job Summary

Medica Health Management seeks a highly skilled and experienced Senior Legal Counsel to provide legal advice and services on issues concerning the rights, obligations, and privileges of the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in insurance law and a proven track record of providing excellent legal services to managed care or health insurance clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide legal advice and services on issues concerning the rights, obligations, and privileges of the organization.
  • Protect the organization's rights in contract negotiations, settlements, and litigation.
  • Develop and implement regulatory compliance programs to ensure the organization's compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external clients to provide legal services and support.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in laws and regulations affecting the organization and provide recommendations for compliance.

Requirements

  • J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited law school and a current license to practice law in at least one United States jurisdiction.
  • 5 or more years of work experience beyond J.D. degree.
  • Ability to secure Wisconsin attorney licensure within twelve (12) months of hire.
  • Experience representing managed care or health insurance clients or practicing in related areas of specialty.
  • Regulatory compliance, insurance law, insurance operations, and/or general health law experience preferred.
