Key Responsibilities

Recruitment, Admission, and Retention of Students

  • Design and execute recruitment initiatives for the BA in Social Work and MSW programs, including recruitment fairs and orientation events.
  • Oversee and coordinate recruitment efforts for the MSW and BASW programs.
  • Consult with educational institutions and organizations to clarify admission policies and procedures.
  • Guide prospective social work students through the admission process and evaluate their academic transcripts.
  • Support students in their degree progression and career planning while focusing on retention strategies.
  • Analyze admissions data and generate reports to align with program objectives.
Enrollment Management
  • Contribute to the management of course enrollments in social work; gather admissions data from various sources and assist in report development.
Academic Standards and Policies
  • Propose updates to policies and procedures as necessary.
  • Ensure the accuracy of program materials and documentation.
  • Incorporate changes into both internal and external communications.
  • Identify and address recurring issues that may need further investigation.
Academic Program Management
  • Assist in creating academic program materials that align with departmental goals.
  • Help establish admission and retention benchmarks while anticipating potential challenges.
  • May oversee the administration and coordination of social work programs.
Budget Management
  • May provide guidance and feedback to ensure that outcomes are met effectively.
Academic Planning
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of relevant academic programs and resources.
  • Collaborate with advising staff and faculty to develop advising tools and resources.
  • Advise students on departmental and university policies, as well as assist in crafting suitable academic plans.
Human Resources
  • May offer functional supervision to students and staff.
Education Requirement
  • A Master's degree in Social Work from a CSWE accredited institution is required.
Required Qualifications
  • A minimum of two years of post-MSW social work experience.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in various computer software applications.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines.
  • Experience in interpreting and applying policies and procedures.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Current licensure as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW).
  • Familiarity with the Council of Social Work Education's (CSWE) standards.
  • Experience in a collaborative team environment.
  • Some knowledge of university policies and regulations.
