Associate Director, Student Engagement and Campus Programs

The University of Iowa is seeking an experienced professional to serve as the Associate Director, Student Engagement and Campus Programs. This role will provide administrative, operational, and fiscal oversight for major University-wide recognized student organizations and promote, coordinate, and evaluate on- and off-campus social programs and activities.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and advise individual students and assigned student organizations in the co-curricular setting, based on student development theory.
- Act as facilitator and program presenter for recognized student organizations, University departments, and affiliated organizations/conferences.
- Communicate, interpret, and enforce applicable University policies.
- Assist student organizations in policy/procedure development and implementation.
- Serve as the assessment coordinator for the Student Engagement and Campus Programs (SECP) team.
- Continue the development and assessment of student life and campus activities programming to enhance student learning and achievement.
- Assist the coordinator for Student Activities and Programming as needed with advising SCOPE Productions, including concert planning and production, and serving as the liaison between SCOPE Productions and the Iowa Memorial Union.
- Serve as primary advisor to UI Homecoming Council and advise the Executive Council on the organization, implementation, and evaluation of Homecoming programs and activities.
- Serve as chair of the On Iowa Late Night Committee and serve on the OnIowa Kickoff at Kinnick Committee.
- Meet and collaborate with university officials and community leaders to discuss various aspects of student life and campus activities programming.
- Perform human resource functions, including recruiting, interviewing, selection, training, performance evaluation, salary determination, promotion, and disciplinary action for SECP, Dance Marathon, and associated services and programs.

Required Qualifications- Master's degree in College Student Personnel, Higher Education Administration, Student Development, or related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- Demonstrated experience (typically 3 years or more) working in higher education in advising, developing, coordinating, and evaluating student life and campus activities programming.
- Experience with creating a welcoming and respectful work environment and working with students of color, international students, other historically underrepresented students, and/or students with a variety of backgrounds and perspectives.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience with standard office computer applications.
- Willingness and ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
