Job Summary

As a Redi-Mix Truck Driver at Morris, Inc., you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of our concrete trucks. This is a safety-sensitive position that requires prioritizing and adhering to all safety guidelines and procedures. You will be working with homeowners and contractors to deliver high-quality concrete products while ensuring a safe working environment.

Responsibilities
  • Inspect the concrete truck to ensure it meets DOT regulations, including checking fluid levels, tire pressure, brakes, lights, and fueling.
  • Make sure safety is the top priority while driving to sites and working with customers to set up the truck in a safe position.
  • Keep in contact with dispatch via cellular phone or radio to communicate project status and schedule changes.
  • Complete all paperwork before leaving the site.
  • Clean out the truck at the project site in an environmentally responsible manner.
  • Wash down the truck to clean off excess concrete, requiring climbing on the truck approximately 10 times per day.
  • Wear appropriate protective gear, including steel-toe boots, safety glasses, hard hat, and vest, in compliance with company safety guidelines.
  • Perform a post-trip inspection of the concrete truck to DOT standards and communicate maintenance issues as needed.
  • Assist with sweeping and shoveling at the plant during inclement weather.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Good driving record.
  • CDL Class A or Class B preferred, but willing to train the ideal candidate.
  • Ability to deal with customers and other employees in a diplomatic manner while under pressure.
  • Physical ability to perform manual work, lift at least 75 pounds several times per day.
  • Math skills are helpful.
