POSITION OVERVIEW
This role encompasses a variety of essential functions, including but not limited to: Client Engagement: Proactively connect with potential clients to encourage enrollment in services, aiming to surpass participation targets and achieve program objectives. Responsibilities include outreach to employers and participants, conducting orientations, determining eligibility, performing initial assessments, and crafting personalized service plans. Tailored Career and Training Assistance: Leverage permitted activities to create a Customer Service Plan that equips participants for sustainable employment with a living wage. Manage a caseload of clients by delivering thorough case management and documenting services provided. Services include comprehensive case management, job readiness training, job search support (including career coaching, labor market insights, skills evaluations, workshops, and assistance with resumes and interviews), job retention support, English language learning, job skills development, and placement services. Program Completion and Transition Planning: Ensure adherence to timelines and participation lengths, assisting clients in achieving their service plans for a smooth transition out of services while managing caseload sizes. Responsibilities include job placement, transition strategies, and contingency planning. Data Management: Perform timely and accurate data entry for registrations, enrollments, status updates, exits, and post-exit management information systems within the organization's operational framework. Job Coaching: Deliver initial and comprehensive services, assess clients to evaluate work readiness and employability, provide information on service and training options, and connect job seekers with suitable pathway services tailored to their unique needs. Referral Services: Aim to minimize wait times and streamline connections for job seekers to valuable services promptly, while tracking client engagement. Stay informed about all relevant programs, workshops, and activities to refer clients to appropriate resources. Networking & Communication: Cultivate, enhance, and sustain professional relationships with partners, employers, and funding sources to achieve desired outcomes by identifying needs, formulating solutions, setting goals, and executing plans. Consistent and professional communication is vital for the program's success. Technical Skills and Competencies Proficiency in working with Limited English Proficiency (LEP) job seekers. Ability to adhere to detailed instructions, program regulations, and guidelines. Skill in synthesizing information from diverse sources to draw conclusions and communicate effectively (both verbally and in writing) in a manner that ensures comprehension for all parties. Strong data entry capabilities, ensuring accurate and timely data collection in relevant management information systems. Capacity to build excellent customer relationships, assess needs, meet service standards, and evaluate client satisfaction. Outstanding communication and writing abilities. Required High School Diploma or GED. At least one year of experience in workforce development, social services, job placement, job development, sales, job coaching, or a related field. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; familiarity with LinkedIn and other networking tools. Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends. Ability to thrive in a culturally diverse and fast-paced environment, demonstrating a commitment to diversity and cultural competency. Access to reliable transportation to meet job-related travel requirements. Preferred Bilingual or multilingual capabilities. Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Social Work, Communication, Workforce Development, Psychology, or Sociology (relevant work experience may substitute for educational requirements). Certification as a Workforce Development Professional (CWDP). Experience working with refugee and immigrant populations or personal experience within these communities. Proven success in a performance-based environment and experience in employer engagement, job placement, or workforce development. Experience supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds, including those facing disabilities, criminal history, homelessness, family violence, or poverty.
