  • Provide Referrals: Offer referrals to clients for legal and social services, ensuring they receive the necessary assistance.
  • Case Management: Maintain a caseload under the case management program, providing ongoing support to clients.
  • Communication and Correspondence: Assist staff with communication and correspondence with clients, ensuring clear and effective communication.
  • Translation and Interpretation: Provide translation and interpretation services as needed, both orally and in writing, to assist the legal team during meetings with clients and interviews or hearings.
  • Intakes and Applications: Conduct immigration and case management intakes, and assist staff with the preparation of immigration applications as required by law.
  • Administrative Support: Provide administrative support, including answering phones, processing mail, organizing and filing documents and files, and monitoring department emails.
  • Data Management: Assist with gathering and maintaining clients' data for grant and legal reports purposes.
  • Community Outreach: Assist with planning community outreach and participate in Know Your Rights & Immigration Benefit presentations or/and immigration webinars that include access to non-legal resources.
  • Training and Development: Attend training and professional development opportunities related to case management and immigration procedures.
  • Communication and Coordination: Communicate and coordinate with resettlement agencies on behalf of CAIR and its clients.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Language Skills: Fluency in Dari, Pashto, Spanish, or Arabic in both written and oral communication.
  • Case Work Experience: Experience in case worker or social worker, with a focus on providing support to clients.
  • Interpretation and Translation: Experience in providing interpretation and translation services, with a focus on supporting the legal team.
  • Administrative Experience: At least one year of experience in operations or administrative coordination, with a focus on supporting a team.
  • Knowledge of Legal Services: Knowledge and exposure of legal services at a nonprofit or private firm that provides immigration services.
  • Data Entry: Experience with data entry, with a focus on maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Microsoft Office Suite: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, with a focus on using tools to support administrative tasks.
  • Immigrant and Refugee Community Experience: Experience working with the immigrant and refugee community, with a focus on providing support and services.
  • Nonprofit Experience: Experience working with nonprofit organizations, with a focus on supporting a team and providing services to clients.
  • Cultural Competence: Experience working with people from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds, with a focus on providing culturally competent services.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on building strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Professional Integrity: Professional integrity and ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive data.
