Job Summary

The Strategic Communications Lead will lead all aspects of internal communications pertaining to the Office of the Chief People Officer (CPO) – including People Organization employee communications, stakeholder engagement, and preparing a variety of presentations and communications materials (business reviews, talking points, All Employee Meetings, etc.).

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and Execute CPO Communications Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive communications strategy for the Office of the CPO, aligning with HP's business priorities and objectives.
  2. Oversee Content for All CPO Employee Communications: Oversee the development and dissemination of all CPO employee communications, including board meetings, All Employee Meetings, written content, and other channels used for engaging with employees in the People Organization and HP.
  3. Manage and Update Content on People Central Intranet: Manage and update content on the People Central intranet, ensuring that all information is accurate, up-to-date, and relevant to employees.
  4. Prepare Talking Points for Internal and External Events: Prepare talking points for internal and external events, ensuring that all communications are clear, concise, and aligned with HP's messaging.
  5. Draft Briefing Materials for the CPO: Draft briefing materials for the CPO, including presentations, reports, and other communications materials.
  6. Partner with HP Corporate and Employee Communications: Partner closely with HP Corporate and Employee Communications to ensure consistent messaging and template/format alignment.
  7. Build Relationships with People Leadership Team: Build and maintain relationships with other members of the People Leadership Team to inform CPO communications strategy and content.
  8. Implement Processes for Long-Term Planning and Execution: Implement processes that drive long-term planning, high-quality content gathering, and rigorous execution across all aspects of CPO communications.
Requirements
  1. University Degree in Marketing, Communication, Journalism, or Related Field: A university degree in Marketing, Communication, Journalism, or any other related field.
  2. At Least 8-10 Years of Corporate/Strategic Communications Experience: At least 8-10 years of corporate/strategic communications experience, with a strong track record of developing and executing effective communications strategies.
  3. Strong Written and Visual Communication Skills: A strong written and visual communicator, with experience spanning presentation content, storytelling, and talking points.
  4. Sound Judgement and Ability to Balance Priorities: Sound judgement, with the ability to balance short- and long-term priorities in a disciplined manner.
  5. Thrives in a Fast-Paced Environment: Thrives in a fast-paced environment and calmly adapts to change when needed.
  6. Facilitation Skills: Facilitation skills – ability/willingness to facilitate various live organizational communications.
