About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Emergency Department Technician to join our team at AdventHealth. As a key member of our emergency department, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the smooth operation of our unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform patient care under the direction of and as assigned by the Charge nurse, registered nurse and/or physician or their designee.
  • Initiate cardiac monitoring, and perform venipuncture for testing.
  • Attach 12 lead EKG's and complete tests before giving strips to physicians on duty.
  • Transport patients to inpatient departments as needed, and accompany RNs to transport patients to specialty units.
  • Assist physicians or RNs with procedures and exams, such as setting up and cleaning up for sutures, pelvic exams, lumbar punctures, and application of orthopedic splints and casting.
Requirements
  • Completion of an EMT program.
  • Licensed by the State of Florida as an EMT.
  • BLS certification.
  • Bilingual (preferred).
