Job Summary

The Emergency Department Technician plays a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. As a member of the patient care team, you will assist registered nurses with delegated tasks, ensuring the delivery of exceptional care to patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with admission, transfer, and discharge of patients
  • Observe patient conditions, recognize changes, and report findings to RNs
  • Escort stable patients to other departments as required
  • Clean, procure, and return equipment and supplies
  • Assist with ordering and maintaining stock items
  • Perform special procedures, such as venipuncture, splinting, and nonsterile dressing changes
  • Set up for Emergency Department procedures and assist RNs as directed
  • Operate patient monitoring equipment, record rhythm strips, and run 12-lead EKGs
  • Perform phlebotomy, collect laboratory specimens, and insert saline locks under RN direction
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • 1-2 years of patient care experience in an acute care hospital or military medic setting, or Active EMT license in lieu of experience
  • Current BLS certification required
  • ACLS required within six months of hire for Associates at Children's & Santa Rosa required
  • EMT Basic or EMT Intermediate license preferred or required in lieu of experience
Work Environment

Full-time position with a TBD work schedule
