Position Summary:
The Paving Supervisor will manage and coordinate paving operations on construction sites, ensuring that projects are executed safely, timely, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess substantial experience in paving operations, exceptional leadership capabilities, and a strong commitment to safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Results Driven: Oversee and coordinate daily paving operations, including the use of paving machinery and equipment.
2. Leadership: Direct and manage a team of paving operators, laborers, and subcontractors.
3. Execution Mastery: Review project plans and specifications to ensure precise and efficient completion of paving tasks.
4. Quality Assurance: Conduct site inspections to assess work progress, quality, and adherence to safety regulations.
5. Equipment Maintenance: Ensure proper upkeep and operation of paving machinery, including performing routine inspections and addressing mechanical issues.
6. Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to resolve any issues or changes in project scope.
7. Safety Advocacy: Implement and enforce safety protocols to guarantee a secure working environment for all team members.
8. Training and Development: Provide training and guidance to team members on paving techniques, safety practices, and equipment operation.
9. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, materials utilized, and labor hours.
10. Conflict Resolution: Address and resolve any on-site issues or conflicts promptly and professionally.
Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent; additional vocational training or certifications in construction or paving is advantageous.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in paving operations is required.
3. Strong understanding of paving materials, techniques, and equipment.
4. Proven leadership and team management skills.
5. Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
6. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications.
7. Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in construction.
8. Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
9. Authorized to work in the U.S.
Work Environment:
This position operates within a construction environment, involving heavy work that may include moving objects weighing up to 50 lbs or more. The role requires working on or near moving mechanical parts and loud equipment. Candidates must be able to sit or stand for extended periods and perform tasks such as lifting, pulling, bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing, walking, reaching, driving, and repetitive motions.
