Job SummaryThe Project Coordinator will assist Project Managers/Superintendents in executing NYSDOT and VAOT projects. This role ensures accurate material quantities and availability, reviews logs for field employees, and coordinates project documentation.
Key Responsibilities- Review plans and technical documents to understand project scope and timing.
- Monitor costs and project progress.
- Maintain control of project documentation and update records.
- Create, manage, and track RFI's and submittals from the field to the architect/engineer of record.
- Assist in creating and distributing project schedules.
- Coordinate project change-order management, creation, and negotiation.
- Document weekly project owner's meetings and decisions.
- Assist with site safety and environmental documentation and coordination.
- Manage and assign CBYD Tickets.
We seek a candidate with 1-3 years of construction experience, knowledge of construction operations and specifications, analytical and problem-solving skills, and a bachelor's degree or relevant experience.
Proficient computer skills and excellent organizational, time management, leadership, and decision-making skills are essential.
Work Environment and Physical DemandsThis role offers a hybrid work environment, with both office-based responsibilities and fieldwork at construction sites. The position requires heavy work, including moving objects up to 50 lb. or more, and working on or near moving mechanical parts and loud equipment.
The ability to sit or stand for long periods, lift, pull, bend, kneel, squat, climb, walk, reach, drive, and perform repetitive motion is necessary.
