About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Commercial Credit Underwriter to join our team at Ally. As a key member of our Commercial Services Group, you will be responsible for conducting in-depth financial analysis and due diligence for credit extensions to businesses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed financial analysis on companies in various industries, utilizing financial statements and supporting documentation.
  • Prepare timely, formalized proposals summarizing the analysis, identifying any credit concerns and including recommendations for the credit extension.
  • Review ownership, licensing, and other related items to ensure company compliance and adherence to guidelines.
  • Interface and communicate with key personnel of companies, stakeholders, and other relevant parties to obtain required information.
  • Update company records, reports, and risk modeling systems with information gathered during the underwriting review process.
  • Execute other related responsibilities and projects as assigned.
  • Participate in and support ongoing professional development and training initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and external regulations.
  • Provide training and mentorship to interns, new department hires, and matrix partners.
  • Participate on special assignments to improve processes and enhance department training material.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent training.
  • Minimum four years of commercial credit underwriting or equivalent commercial lending experience preferred.
  • Understanding of dealership and wholesale administration a plus.
  • Strong financial analysis and analytic/problem-solving skills required.
  • Proficient in intermediate MS applications (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint).
