Position Summary:
The Production Manager plays a critical role in overseeing and optimizing production processes to ensure efficiency, quality, and safety within our manufacturing plant.
This role requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of production operations, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Oversight:
Monitor production processes to ensure they are running smoothly, efficiently, and in accordance with established quality standards and production schedules.
Process Optimization:
Identify areas for process improvement and implement strategies to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance overall productivity. Collaborate with the engineering and operations teams to develop and implement process enhancements.
Quality Assurance:
Maintain a keen eye for quality control, ensuring that products meet or exceed quality standards at all stages of production.
Implement and enforce quality assurance protocols to minimize defects and deviations.
Resource Management:
Effectively allocate resources, including labor, equipment, and materials, to achieve production targets. Coordinate with procurement and logistics to ensure timely availability of necessary inputs.
Safety Compliance:
Uphold a strong commitment to workplace safety. Enforce safety protocols, conduct regular safety inspections, and promote a safety-conscious culture among the production team.
Reporting and Documentation:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date production records, including production output, downtime, maintenance logs, and any incidents. Generate relevant reports for management review.
Training and Development:
Identify training needs within the production team and facilitate training programs to enhance skills and knowledge. Mentor and develop team members to promote career growth.
Continuous Improvement:
Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives, such as lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies. Contribute ideas and lead implementation efforts to streamline processes and reduce waste.
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field is preferred.
Proven experience as a Production Supervisor or similar role within a manufacturing environment.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
In-depth understanding of manufacturing processes, quality control, and safety protocols.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Proficiency in using production management software and tools.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
