The Role

As a Culinary Specialist, you will play a crucial role in upholding the culinary and operational standards at Goosefeather. A thorough understanding of the menu and food offerings is essential, as well as the ability to prepare and present dishes efficiently. You will also be responsible for adhering to sanitation regulations and demonstrating these standards in daily operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare all menu items according to established recipes and yield guides, ensuring efficiency and quality.
  • Coordinate with Front of House staff to manage the timing of dishes and address guest feedback.
  • Collaborate with team members, providing support and assistance as needed.
  • Communicate essential guest information to the team to ensure a seamless dining experience (including allergy alerts, special requests, etc.).
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in accordance with Department of Health standards.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of equipment maintenance and usage, ensuring safe and proper operation.
  • Regularly inspect the cleanliness and organization of workstations, addressing any issues promptly.
  • Ensure all tools and supplies meet cleanliness and operational standards.
  • Follow proper storage procedures as mandated by health regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Proficient in written and spoken English.
  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team, demonstrating ownership and urgency in tasks.
  • Exhibit excellence in hospitality for both internal and external guests, with a strong understanding of industry best practices.
  • Strong time management, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with kitchen ticket systems and order management.
  • Passionate about delivering exceptional hospitality, food, and beverages.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience as a Culinary Specialist in a high-volume kitchen.
  • Culinary Arts Degree is preferred.
  • New York City Food Protection Certificate (Food Handler's) is required.
