Advanced Network Infrastructure Specialist

Job Summary
Prime Partners is seeking a highly skilled Advanced Network Infrastructure Specialist to join our team. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining network infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and security across various network types.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and troubleshoot network systems, including monitoring performance and addressing any issues that arise.
- Design and implement network infrastructure plans, install and configure network equipment, and set up firewalls to ensure secure operations.
- Configure and manage IP networks, including managed network switches, network controllers, routers, firewalls, and servers.
- Design and configure routing through firewalls, Access Control Lists (ACLs), and other mechanisms.
- Manage and maintain Building Management Systems (BMS) network systems, including installing, operating, and upgrading computers and ensuring all electronic equipment is fully functional and up-to-date.
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve network issues, with a thorough understanding of the network design, including device connections, layout, physical and logical structure, and network protocols.
- Knowledge of TCP and UDP ports, and IEEE standards such as 802.3 (Ethernet), 802.11 (Wi-Fi), and 802.3af (PoE).
- Utilize specialized software for writing custom applications that enhance building performance or automate system backups for ongoing building management.
- Use reporting software to monitor building performance, making necessary adjustments to optimize system performance and tuning.
- Develop enhancements to existing software to add functionality for energy reporting and customer dashboard interfaces.
- Cross-functional collaboration with engineering, sales, and project management teams for accurate estimation, design, installation, start-up, commissioning, and training for building network systems.
- Ensure timely creation of software backups for projects and software development, and assist in preparing as-built drawings and Operation & Maintenance Manuals.
- Work with customer IT departments to implement cybersecurity standards within BMS/OT networks, including configuring firewalls, VPNs, IPsec, encryption, and managing certificate generation and maintenance.
- Develop and implement disaster recovery procedures, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of security and networking best practices.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related networking discipline.
- 2+ years of networking experience.
- Proficiency in computer operating systems, including MS Office Suite.
- Solid understanding of basic networking principles.
- Experience in configuring and troubleshooting network hardware and software.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years of networking experience.
- Experience leading a team of network engineers.
- Networking certifications.
- Familiarity with Optigo, Cisco, Juniper, Microtik, Tosibox, PFSense, or other managed network systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical and electronic circuitry, including reading and interpreting diagrams.
- Working knowledge of AC power circuitry, including breakers and multi-phase power.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to empathize and work through issues creatively to achieve successful outcomes and customer satisfaction.
