Job Summary

We are seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to join our team in the Duke Gastroenterology North Durham Clinic. As a key member of our team, you will provide medical care to adult patients with gastrointestinal conditions in a general GI inpatient and outpatient clinic.

Responsibilities
  • Record patient histories, perform physical examinations, and establish treatment plans in collaboration with physicians as needed.
  • Prescribe medications and order lab tests and procedures as necessary.
  • Provide patient education and coordinate care with other medical professionals as needed.
  • Document patient encounters and review lab results in the Epic system.
  • Collaborate with nursing staff to complete patient paperwork and attend GI Grand Rounds.
Requirements
  • Nurse Practitioners: Master's degree in Nursing and current RN licensure in North Carolina, with national certification as a NP required prior to or within 6 months of employment.
  • Physician Assistants: Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program and licensure in the state of NC, with certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
