We are seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to join our team at Duke University Medical Center. As a key member of our clinical team, you will provide medical services to patients, collect and document data, conduct diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and provide direct patient care services.
Responsibilities- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in partnership with physicians to diagnose medical and surgical problems and prescribe necessary treatment and services for quality patient care.
- Take patient histories, conduct physical examinations, and record data in the patient's record; write progress notes and narrative discharge summaries (if applicable); prepare patient workups and summaries noting pertinent positive and negative findings.
- Order and schedule laboratory studies and diagnostic procedures; explain the necessity, preparation, nature, and anticipated effects of scheduled diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to the patient.
- Communicate verbally and in writing all pertinent patient information to collaborating physicians, nursing staff, case manager, social worker, home health agency, and other relevant healthcare providers.
- Document in the patients' chart (EMR) all relevant data, including results of diagnostic tests, laboratory results, patients' condition, and response to therapies/interventions.
- Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
- Current or compact RN licensure and NP approval to practice in the state of North Carolina (for Nurse Practitioners).
- Licensure in the state of NC and certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (for Physician Assistants).
- 1+ years of APP experience preferred.
Monday-Friday, day shift, with flexibility to meet clinic needs.
