This role is essential in supporting the manufacturing and technical operations of RTP Company, with a strong emphasis on ongoing process enhancement and efficiency. The candidate will utilize fundamental engineering principles, industry standards, and practices to design, automate, modify, or develop facilities, testing methods, machinery, equipment, or processes utilized in the production of thermoplastic compounds.

Work Schedule: 1st Shift

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and articulate manufacturing processes effectively.
  • Monitor and adjust processes to achieve cost reductions while enhancing product quality and operational efficiency.
  • Engage in design evaluations to optimize manufacturability of products.
  • Oversee activities related to the creation of new processes, including researching current and emerging technologies, assessing process costs and quality, and conducting process characterization and optimization studies using experimental designs and analytical problem-solving tools.
  • Identify and resolve equipment/process-related issues. Coordinate maintenance, production, and other resources to implement effective solutions.
  • Facilitate the installation of new processes and modifications to existing processes.
  • Undertake additional projects and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Willingness to travel to support various RTP Company locations as necessary.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Composites, Plastics, Chemical, or Mechanical) or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of manufacturing experience in compounding or related processes.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
  • The individual will be required to sit and stand for extended periods and lift packages weighing up to 50 lbs.
