Job Summary

The University of South Alabama's Global Outreach department is seeking a highly motivated and experienced International Student Recruiter to join our team. As an International Student Recruiter, you will play a critical role in promoting the University's global programs and attracting top international talent to our institution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a Key Ambassador for the University
    • Represent the University at various international events, conferences, and college fairs to promote our global programs and build relationships with international partners.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with international educational agencies, counselors, and other global partners to increase recruitment efforts.
  • Maximize Recruitment Resources
    • Utilize a range of strategies to maximize recruitment resources, including in-person and virtual presentations, social media, and other digital platforms.
    • Develop and implement effective recruitment plans to target qualified international students and increase enrollment numbers.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams
    • Work closely with the Director and Assistant Director to implement recruitment portions of the institution's International Student Enrollment and Retention plan.
    • Collaborate with other departments, such as Admissions and Student Affairs, to ensure a seamless recruitment and enrollment process.
  • Provide Excellent Customer Service
    • Correspond with prospective students, international partners, and counselors in a professional and timely manner.
    • Provide exceptional customer service to ensure a positive experience for international students and partners.
  • Oversee Student Workers and Manage Projects
    • Supervise student workers as needed to support recruitment efforts.
    • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Stay Up-to-Date with Industry Trends
    • Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance and excellence in recruitment efforts.
    Requirements
    • Education
      • Bachelor's degree in international education, international relations, or a related field from an accredited institution.
    • Experience
      • Minimum of 2 years of experience in international student recruitment, admissions, or a related field.
    • Skills
      • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
      • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
      • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions.
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications.
    • Language Skills
      • Bilingual in English/Spanish or proficiency in a foreign language is preferred.
    • Travel Requirements
      • Ability to travel internationally extensively, with occasional domestic travel required.
