Position Overview: The Unarmed Security Officer is essential in ensuring the safety and security of our facilities by monitoring access points, assisting visitors, and managing communication activities. This role demands a vigilant and adaptable individual who can thrive in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Access Control:
    • Oversee entry points, including the main entrance, to confirm that only authorized individuals and vehicles gain access.
    • Authenticate identification and credentials of those entering the premises.
    • Implement security measures and protocols to deter unauthorized access or suspicious behavior.
    • React swiftly to alarms or emergency signals, following established procedures.
  2. Visitor Support:
    • Welcome guests, clients, and vendors warmly, providing necessary assistance and directions.
    • Issue visitor identification passes and ensure adherence to visitor management guidelines.
    • Respond to inquiries and offer information regarding facility services, events, or operational procedures.
  3. Communication Duties:
    • Utilize communication devices, such as two-way radios or telephones, to coordinate security personnel or emergency responders.
    • Receive and convey messages, requests for assistance, or incident reports clearly and accurately.
    • Collaborate with on-site and remote personnel to ensure prompt responses to incidents or emergencies.
    • Maintain precise records of communication activities, including logs of calls, responses, and resolutions.
  4. Emergency Preparedness:
    • Assist in executing emergency response protocols, including evacuations, lockdowns, or medical situations.
    • Support emergency service teams by directing them to incident locations or granting access to restricted areas.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in security or law enforcement is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated experience in security, dispatching, or a related field.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain composure and focus under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail and keen observational skills.
  • Proficient in using communication tools and computer systems.
  • Familiarity with security protocols, emergency response strategies, and relevant laws and regulations.
  • Physical fitness and capability to stand or patrol for extended durations.
