JOB PURPOSE

The R&M Specialist role encompasses the inspection, testing, qualification, and upkeep of field tools. This position is responsible for executing preventive and corrective maintenance, retrofitting, and upgrading electronic, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment, as well as data acquisition systems and communication tools.

Utilizing company guidelines, technical work instructions, test procedures, schematics, engineering notices, and best practices, the R&M Specialist executes their responsibilities under the guidance of a senior R&M Specialist, Lead Specialist, or Supervisor.

In a senior capacity, the R&M Specialist will lead and supervise the tasks performed by other R&M personnel.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain service quality as a primary focus and seek areas for improvement across all business areas.

OPERATIONS
  • Engage in daily operations and safety meetings, promptly reporting any issues using the appropriate channels.
  • Ensure equipment, facilities, and work areas are maintained in a safe and presentable condition.
  • Utilize tools such as hammers, hoists, cranes, drills, and wrenches to repair machines, equipment, or structures.
  • Assemble, install, or repair wiring, electrical or electronic components, plumbing, machinery, or equipment.
  • Inspect used parts to determine dimensional changes using measuring instruments.
  • Assist in troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and modifications on a variety of equipment, ensuring compliance with documented policies and procedures.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in equipment, procedures, and documentation.
  • Complete necessary documentation and maintain accurate records in relevant databases.
  • In senior roles, lead teams in troubleshooting equipment issues and implementing corrective actions.
  • Order parts and supplies according to company guidelines.
  • Support and comply with LEAN initiatives and participate in continuous improvement programs.

COMMUNICATION
  • Report equipment failures and troubleshooting needs to R&M Management as required.
  • Maintain effective communication with key stakeholders.
  • Clearly communicate expectations and responsibilities to team members.

FINANCIAL
  • Demonstrate financial responsibility in managing budgets and expenses.
  • Ensure costs are within approved budgets and processed timely.

PEOPLE & DEVELOPMENT
  • Engage with colleagues and foster personal connections on the job.

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
REQUIRED
  • 4-6 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
  • High School Diploma.
  • Basic Computer Skills.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
REQUIRED
  • Basic Mathematics skills.
  • Familiarity with hazardous materials and safety policies.
  • Ability to diagnose issues with tools and equipment.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Good reading and writing skills, with strong judgment in line with policies.
  • Time management capabilities.
  • Quality Control Analysis skills.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the role.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENT:
This role may require domestic and potentially international travel of up to 10%.
