Position Summary: The WIC Director is responsible for overseeing a range of leadership and administrative functions, ensuring a high-quality customer service experience. This role entails managing the overall operations of the WIC program, including the planning, implementation, and evaluation of services in compliance with state and federal regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the WIC program by assessing the needs of projects and evaluating the health and nutritional status of participants.
  • Oversee caseload management, clinic operations, and scheduling to effectively meet the needs of clients.
  • Review and analyze monthly reports related to nutrition, service utilization, referrals, and quality improvement initiatives, preparing documentation for stakeholders as needed.
  • Ensure all team members are adequately trained and accountable for their roles within the WIC program, including tasks such as voucher issuance, vendor oversight, monthly reporting, and adherence to civil rights and nondiscrimination policies.
  • Implement, monitor, and evaluate the nutritional education work plan as directed.
  • Collaborate with the Project Nutritionist and Breastfeeding Coordinator to ensure comprehensive service delivery.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in nutritional sciences, dietetics, community nutrition, or public health nutrition.
  • A minimum of 3 years of leadership experience is essential.
  • Must fulfill the qualifications and requirements set forth for a competent professional authority (CPA) as per WIC policy.
