Environmental Policy Strategist for Utility Resiliency

As a valued member of our team at the Edison Electric Institute, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and advancing balanced environmental policies, regulations, and legislation that drive energy grid reliability and resiliency.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of federal and state-level policy issues, particularly those related to the Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, NEPA, ESA, and NERC reliability standards. You will work closely with internal teams, member companies, industry consultants, and government agencies to develop and advocate for industry positions on key areas such as water quality, quantity, infrastructure, and natural resource management.

This exciting opportunity is ideal for an experienced professional with a strong background in environmental policy, utility operations, or a related field. The successful candidate will possess excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex issues and convey them clearly and conversationally. Proven problem-solving and critical thinking skills are essential, as well as comfort working with team members at every level throughout the organization.

We offer a competitive salary range of $160,000 - $210,000 annually, with the starting annual salary determined based on individual qualifications. Additionally, we provide an annual performance incentive of 5-10% of annual base salary, prorated for mid-year start dates. Our benefits package includes medical, dental, vision, 401k, paid time off, tuition assistance, wellness incentives, transportation subsidy, and professional development opportunities.

This hybrid position requires residing in the District of Columbia metropolitan area and coming into the office a minimum of three days each week, with two mandatory days being Tuesday and Wednesday.
