Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and sustain the risk management process throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure effective integration of risk mitigation strategies across all levels.
  • Provide insights and recommendations regarding the approval, acceptance, and escalation of critical risks.
  • Collaborate with various teams to identify, document, and report risks associated with project activities.
  • Encourage regular reviews of risk mitigation plans by risk owners.
  • Facilitate the transfer of identified risks to the appropriate departments.
  • Deliver training to risk owners on utilizing project risk management tools.
  • Collect and analyze risk metrics for management reporting.
  • Assist in the implementation of risk decision-making practices into daily operations.
  • Manage the escalation process for risks as necessary.
  • Maintain awareness of project and program risks and their implications.
  • Ensure thorough documentation of closure and acceptance rationale.
  • Support risk submitters in creating and scoring risks.
  • Engage with inter-organizational teams and stakeholders regularly.
  • Maintain professional relationships with NASA and other contractors.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in Engineering with relevant experience.
  • Proven expertise in technical risk management within project management.
  • Experience in delivering flight hardware at the project or program level.
  • Self-motivated with strong teamwork and adaptability skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to manage tasks efficiently and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in project management or systems engineering.
  • Familiarity with SharePoint and related tools.
  • Knowledge of NASA's organizational processes.
  • Experience with risk management tools and methodologies.
  • Background in collaborating with international partners.

Note: U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency may be required for this position. A background investigation is necessary for employment.
