Position Overview:

This role is essential in managing local procurement for frozen and dry food products. The successful candidate will engage in vendor relationship management, quality assurance, price negotiations, and logistics planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate local purchasing activities, ensuring product quality and compliance with regulations.
  • Analyze costs and pricing to optimize profit margins.
  • Process invoices and receipts promptly to ensure timely payments.
  • Establish stock numbers and maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Collaborate with the warehouse team to verify the quality and quantity of received goods.
  • Utilize the Company AS400 system for inventory adjustments and price changes.
  • Generate purchase orders based on sales trends and inventory levels.
  • Oversee inventory management, focusing on sales performance and stock levels.
  • Lead bi-weekly meetings to discuss product and inventory updates.
  • Coordinate semiannual inventory counts, which may occur on weekends.
  • Participate in company events and functions as required.
  • Assist in developing marketing strategies.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the department manager.
  • Respond to management inquiries as needed.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to remain seated in an office environment for extended periods.
  • Proficient in typing and using a computer for long durations.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 30 pounds, along with bending and reaching.

Qualifications:

  • Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking, listening).
  • Proficiency in Japanese, Chinese, or Korean is preferred.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Adaptability to changing assignments and workloads.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, preferably in the food industry.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Intermediate mathematical skills for profit margin calculations and inventory management.
  • Strong problem-solving and multitasking abilities.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with Japanese foods and sake is a plus.
