Position Overview

Stiles Machinery Inc. is in search of a Director of National Consulting Operations. This role involves collaborating closely with the Stiles Sales Engineers and Product Specialists to provide expert consultation to clients interested in acquiring and implementing exclusive Stiles Machinery products. The Director will assess the client's operational workflow and offer tailored recommendations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Facilitate national sales efforts for production equipment and automation; Analyze the operational workflow of Stiles products for clients; Advise clients on optimal strategies for integrating Stiles machinery into their operations; Oversee software application and implementation processes; Supply management with insights on forecasting and critical project-related information; Assess production methodologies and devise strategic improvements; Drive sales of consulting initiatives within the woodworking sector; Estimate project scope and calculate associated costs; Lead a team of engineers while ensuring quality assurance in project execution; Manage the financial performance of the business unit.

In addition to the responsibilities listed above, the Director of National Consulting Operations will supervise a team of two (2) Engineers with expertise in woodworking and furniture manufacturing. The managerial duties will include:

Planning projects and scheduling Engineers based on their unique skills; Organizing travel arrangements and budgets for the Engineers, including approval of expenses; Establishing project budgets and ensuring compliance; Mentoring Engineers to enhance the quality of their work; Determining compensation for the Engineers; Developing training programs and growth opportunities for the Engineers; Overseeing project profitability and financial planning; Reviewing financial statements and presenting them to leadership, taking necessary actions; Consulting with clients to define project scope, followed by the development of detailed consulting plans tailored to client needs, including cost and pricing calculations; Collaborating with team leadership on project execution, particularly regarding production costs to establish sales pricing.

As the Director of National Consulting Operations, the individual will engage in various projects and products, including:

Strategic development of production capabilities, including multi-year expansion planning; Providing technology recommendations related to manufacturing, budgeting, workforce management, and production cost assessments; Leading initiatives focused on cost reduction and efficiency improvements, including on-site workshops to identify and address inefficiencies in machining, material handling, workflow, IT processes, production planning, and product enhancement for increased output or labor reduction.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates must possess a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in the following areas:

Project management within the furniture and wood construction sectors; Consulting on production software, including functionality assessments and implementation strategies; Development of production strategies, including reshoring, feasibility studies, automation, and smart robotic manufacturing; Management of wood manufacturing product teams; Acquisition of consulting projects, focusing on client relationships and sales engagements.

This position necessitates frequent travel, both nationally and regionally, approximately 80% of the time.
