Avance Care is seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA laws
  • Escort patients to and from exam/treatment rooms
  • Triage patients as necessary and administer vaccines and injections
  • Record patient data, including vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes
  • Obtain necessary patient records and verify consent prior to treatment or procedures
  • Assist physicians with exams and procedures, including injections, dermatologic procedures, and EKGs
  • Administer medications orally, vaginally, rectally, subcutaneously, intramuscularly, and intradermally
  • Prepare and stock exam/treatment rooms and maintain proper disinfection protocols
  • Schedule patient tests, procedures, and follow-up appointments
  • Complete prior authorizations for medications and diagnostic imaging
  • Phone in prescriptions and distribute proper medications as ordered by the provider
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent, required
  • Associates degree in Medical Assisting, preferred
  • One of the following or similar qualification is preferred: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Graduate of Medical Assisting Program (MA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
  • 1-2 years of experience in internal medicine, or primary care settings required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification, required
  • Must pass Avance Care Competency Check (Medical Knowledge Assessment and Vaccination Knowledge Assessment)
