Job Title: IT Specialist

Black Hills Federal Credit Union is seeking a highly skilled IT Specialist to join our team. As an IT Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining the in-house computer system and Credit Union's network of personal computers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support for Corporate and Branch users as directed by the IT Services Manager.
  • Develop and maintain scripts and programs that automate repetitive tasks and data transfer in the IT Department.
  • Perform system administrator functions on credit union servers.
  • Identify, resolve, and document all computer-related problems that may occur during the operator's operational shift.
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly housekeeping and equipment maintenance as needed or scheduled by the IT Services Manager.
  • Configure, install, troubleshoot, and maintain PCs, network printers, multi-function devices, and other computer peripheral equipment.
  • Remain current on present and new technologies as well as research, recommend, and apply new technologies as they emerge.
  • Provide guidance and training to technicians as directed.
Requirements:
  • Two-year college level of language, math, and reasoning skills.
  • One to three years of experience in a related field with equal responsibilities is acceptable.
  • Formal training should be supplemented with continuing education.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of personal computer software, MS Windows operating systems.
Working Conditions:

The IT Specialist will work primarily in a climate-controlled private office with minimal noise. Occasional travel to one of BHFCU's branch locations or attendance at community events may be required.

The IT Specialist must be able to perform job functions independently and work effectively either on their own or as part of a team. They must be able to plan and direct the work activities of themselves and others. They must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions. They must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence. They must be able to perform complex mathematical calculations with extreme accuracy.

The IT Specialist must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate the highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public.

The IT Specialist must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines/requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace. They must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. They must be capable of exercising the highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.
