As an Eco-Friendly Project Coordinator at SAIIA Construction, you will play a vital role in ensuring our projects meet the highest standards of environmental sustainability.

Your Role:

  • Develop and implement strategies to ensure compliance with environmental regulations for construction projects.
  • Manage stormwater systems, secure necessary permits, and provide leadership and training to project teams.
  • Guide projects to meet sustainability objectives while interacting with regulatory agencies and stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure compliant programs, operations, and culture to effectively manage and meet environmental compliance related requirements.
  2. Comply with federal, state, and local environmental regulations by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; interpreting standards; enforcing adherence to regulations; and advising management on needed actions for the jobsite(s).
  3. Provide direction and leadership to contractors, consultants, and project team members on environmental aspects and impacts and best practices at the jobsite.
  4. Manage requirements for stormwater systems to comply with the National Pollution Discharge Elimination Systems (NPDES), including the Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) and Best Management Practices (BMPs).

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years' progressive professional experience in the Environmental Compliance Field.
  • Strong working knowledge of U.S. and State of Virginia Environmental regulations.
  • Experience and working knowledge of energy management programs with some U.S. Health and Safety regulatory knowledge.
  • Understanding of civil engineering design and construction methods and industry standards.
