Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Student Liaison to join our team at Cuyahoga Community College. The successful candidate will provide academic and technological support to High Tech Academy High School Scholars, facilitating their academic success and completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a liaison and connect students to personal, academic, and career support services
  • Provide support to the High Tech Academy Digital Literacy Program
  • Assist in selecting and identifying new student participants as assigned
  • Monitor participants' academic progress and refer to counseling department as needed
  • Assist students with completing financial aid and scholarship applications, writing essays/papers, connecting to academic support, and informing students of program offerings
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all necessary data to ensure compliance with the Department of Education
  • Conduct individual and group program-engagement sessions
  • May conduct parental outreach to provide student progress reports
  • Ensure students develop applicable technological and professional knowledge and skills
  • Facilitate supplemental skill-building concepts for students enrolled in high-risk courses
  • Meet regularly with staff for participant and program evaluations
  • Work collaboratively with the Student Counseling department to ensure deliberate and attentive student referrals when needed
  • Meet with faculty regarding student progress and course content/materials, as needed
  • Assist in writing and editing the departmental newsletters and other correspondence as needed
  • May attend College-wide meetings, workshops, and conferences as directed
  • Assist with metric tracking and report preparation
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field
  • Minimum of two years of demonstrated experience advising, counseling, and/or teaching under-prepared students
  • Demonstrated experience making sound decisions that affect a work unit or team
  • Demonstrated experience in a role requiring diverse problem-solving methods in a variety of situations
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in a related field
  • Demonstrated experience and/or familiarity with Blumen
