Role Summary:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily operations within the manufacturing sector, ensuring production targets and safety protocols are consistently met.
  • Guarantee that all operational activities are conducted in a secure and regulated environment.
  • Ensure compliance with all quality and regulatory standards, specifications, and policies.
  • Collaborate with production planning and materials management to enhance scheduled attainment and customer satisfaction.
  • Analyze production reports to verify that safety, quality, and cost efficiency goals are achieved.
  • Establish objectives for the management team and monitor performance against these goals.
  • Develop action plans to address areas for improvement.
  • Promote management engagement, training, and development to maximize safety, manufacturing quality, and productivity.
  • Mentor and develop managers and supervisors, creating succession plans.
  • Work with Human Resources on recruitment and retention initiatives.
  • Communicate regularly with upper management regarding safety, production, quality, and human resources status.
  • Manage the overall operating budget in alignment with the current business strategy.

Additional Duties:
  • Engage in safety and human resources initiatives within the facility.
  • Participate in safety audits, incident investigations, and related meetings.
  • Oversee plant operations in the absence of the department manager.
  • Perform other duties as necessary to ensure operational efficiency.

Qualifications:
  • In-depth knowledge of the food manufacturing sector.
  • Familiarity with USDA regulations and requirements.
  • Basic understanding of OSHA regulations.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including mainframe, network, and PC business software.

Education and Experience:

A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Food Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience is required. Typically requires a minimum of five years of managerial experience in food processing.
