Job Title: Patient Advocate

Join Texas Health Action as a Patient Advocate and play a vital role in optimizing the patient experience, helping individuals navigate the complex healthcare system, and connecting them with medical and supportive social services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support status-neutral engagement activities for HIV prevention and care services
  • Provide direct care to individuals, including intake and assessments, brief interventions, and insurance navigation
  • Identify and address psychosocial barriers to accessing care and facilitate linkage to supportive services
  • Monitor issues affecting client access, adherence, and retention in care
  • Collect and analyze data to identify program progress and manage clinic operations
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of full-time work/volunteer experience in serving diverse populations, including LGBTQIA communities and communities of color
  • Demonstrated experience taking initiative and exercising independent judgment, decision-making, and problem-solving
  • Proficient using computer software applications, such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
