Defending the Future: Guidance, Navigation, and Control Engineer

Mach Industries is seeking a highly skilled Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) Engineer to contribute to the development of next-generation defense technologies. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in control theory, Kalman filtering, and state estimation, as well as proficiency in simulation or software development tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, Python, C++, or Rust.

This role requires a highly analytical and problem-solving individual who can create and implement algorithms and models that will significantly impact the performance and reliability of our products in complex operational environments.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field, and will be graduating before August 2025. Additionally, they will have 6+ months of experience applying technical skills outside of the classroom, and excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a professional team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement algorithms and models for next-generation defense technologies
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and manufacture cutting-edge weapons
  • Contribute to the development of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), missiles, and advanced weapon systems
  • Work closely with engineers and technicians to ensure the successful integration of GNC systems

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field
  • Strong foundation in control theory, Kalman filtering, and state estimation
  • Proficiency in simulation or software development tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, Python, C++, or Rust
  • 6+ months of experience applying technical skills outside of the classroom
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a professional team environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • GPA of 3.5 or above
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt in a dynamic startup environment
  • Engineering problem-solving capabilities
  • Self-directed with a positive attitude and team spirit
  • Master's degree or PhD in a related field
  • Experience with real-time operating systems
  • Experience with aerodynamics and flight vehicle stability and control
  • Familiarity with defense industry standards and regulations
  • Security clearance or the ability to obtain one
