Supervisory Border Patrol Agent Position in Law Enforcement

Job Description
This position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize expertise in preventing illegal entry of noncitizens into the United States by land, water, or air. As a Supervisory Border Patrol Agent with MSCCN, you will be responsible for enforcing criminal provisions of Immigration and Nationality Laws and seeking out and apprehending smugglers or noncitizens who are in the United States illegally.
About the Role
- Direct assignments of subordinate Border Patrol Agents, specialized units, and station operations.
- Direct activities aimed at preventing the illegal entry of aliens into the United States by land, water, or air.
- Seek out and apprehend smugglers or aliens who are illegally in the United States.
- Enforce the criminal provisions of the Immigration and Nationality laws.
- Perform all normal functions involved in supervising personnel, including leave approval, resolving disciplinary problems, and preparing annual performance appraisals.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen to apply for this position.
- Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered with Selective Service.
- Primary U.S. residency for at least three of the last five years.
- May be required to pass a background investigation and/or polygraph.
- CBP follows the DHS Drug-Free Workplace Plan for drug testing procedures.
- Must be able to meet job-related medical and/or fitness standards.
Benefits
- The salary for this position starts at $103,409.00 (GS-13, Step 1) to $134,435.00 (GS-13, Step 10).
- This is a Non-Bargaining Unit status position.

Education and Qualifications
- You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as interpreting and enforcing immigration or comparable laws, rules, and regulations.
- Rigorous Law Enforcement Officer Special Retirement Coverage: This is a rigorous position subject to mandatory retirement under the special retirement provisions for law enforcement officers.
- Language Requirement: Must be proficient in the Spanish language.
Additional Information
- This is a temporary assignment not-to-exceed two years, with a possible extension for an additional one year.
- You may be returned, at any time, to the position from which temporarily promoted, or to a different position of equivalent grade and pay.
