Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Community Safety Officer to join our team at Sierra Joint Community College. As a key member of our Business Services department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our students, faculty, and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective safety protocols to prevent and respond to incidents on campus.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and students to promote a culture of safety and respect.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Provide training and education to students, faculty, and staff on safety procedures and protocols.
  • Serve as a liaison between the college and local law enforcement agencies to ensure effective communication and response to safety incidents.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as business administration, public administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a safety-related role, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to customer service.
