Key Responsibilities

  • Provide academic assistance to students, including group instruction and individualized support.
  • Monitor student progress, report to teachers, and maintain accurate records.
  • Assist with instructional preparation, including arranging classroom furnishings, preparing visual aids, and duplicating materials.
  • Supervise students in the classroom and other locations, promoting positive behavior and self-esteem.
  • Participate in the development of discipline policy and implement approved methods for managing misbehavior.

Requirements

  • Graduation from high school.
  • Candidates must possess an associate's degree, successful completion of 48 semester hours, or score at least a level Four or higher on all three portions of the WorkKeys exam.
  • Possession of an equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.

Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work under the limited supervision of the teacher and/or principal, with a focus on providing support to students and teachers. The ideal candidate will be able to maintain confidentiality, work independently, and apply impartially and consistently proper methods of recognition, reward, and punishment.
