Clinical Pharmacist-Adult Inpatient General Surgery Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Pharmacist to join our team in the Clinical and Patient Care Services Division at Duke University Hospital. As a Clinical Pharmacist, you will provide clinical pharmacy services, including order verification, clinical monitoring, and support of clinical pharmacy and departmental programs.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain outstanding skills as a clinical pharmacy practitioner and consistently demonstrate the value of pharmacy services
- Provide clinical pharmacy services to primarily General Surgery services and associated patient populations
- Provide discharge medication reconciliation and contribute to ongoing hospital and department transitions of care initiatives
- Educate medical, nursing, and pharmacy staff about the management, prescribing, and monitoring of therapies used in patient care areas of responsibility
- Serve as a resource to the Department of Pharmacy for areas of expertise
- Participate in departmental and hospital committees and initiatives related to practice area
- Contribute to student and resident education
- Provide educational lectures and/or participate in research (Duke, State/Local, National)
- Work with peers to achieve division and departmental goals
- Take responsibility for personal and professional growth
- Maintain familiarity with all departmental programs and work as an integral part of the pharmacy team
- Additional responsibilities as assigned by manager
- Doctor of Pharmacy Degree OR BS Pharmacy Degree
- With a BS Pharmacy degree, two years of pharmacy practice experience, or acceptable board certification, or completion of an accredited residency program and demonstrated ability to achieve positive patient outcomes in a similar environment is required
- With a Doctor of Pharmacy degree, no experience is required
- 2 years + of practice experience preferred
- PGY1 or Pharmacy Practice Residency preferred
- Licensed Pharmacist or eligible to practice pharmacy in North Carolina
