Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our Hospitalist team at Mercy Hospital. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide exceptional patient care and work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Provide cross-coverage for admitted patients, including fielding nurse calls and performing bedside evaluations as needed.
  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and determine diagnoses and treatment plans.
  • Order and interpret medical diagnostics in conjunction with attending physicians.
  • Prescribe medications, treatments, and medical equipment as necessary.
  • Provide patient education and counseling on chronic illness management and wellness care.
  • Refer patients to specialty care when indicated and consult with physicians when necessary.
  • Promote effective communication within the team and with other healthcare staff.
  • Participate in program development and quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements
  • Master's degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program and certification through ANCC.
  • Active, non-restricted medical license in MN (or ability to obtain).
  • Ability to obtain and/or maintain MN DEA certification and National Provider Identifier (NPI).
  • Ability to meet criteria/qualifications for credentialing and hospital privileges.
  • ACLS/BLS Tier 3 certification required within 180 days.
